Thank you for enquiring about the Mississauga Camera Club!!!!!
Who and Where we are:
The club was established in 1954. Currently there are 193 members, mostly from Mississauga, but the club does welcome members from outside of Mississauga. We use the City of Mississauga facility at the Mississauga Senior Centre at 1389 Cawthra Road and therefore are required to maintain 80% or more Mississauga members. Once membership from outside Mississauga hits 20% we would waitlist people from outside Mississauga who would like to join. Currently we are accepting new members from anywhere. Our current membership ranges in age from 20s to Seniors. The range of ability is from Beginner to Professional.
What we do:
We gather together to enjoy numerous presentations from professional photographers, amateur photographers as well as club members. We participate in club competitions four (4) times a year (optional) and view the results together where ribbons are awarded. At the end of the year at the club banquet, we celebrate our members being recognized for their achievements in photography and volunteerism.
How we do it:
Our club is run by a tremendous commitment from members as volunteers. Our Executive meets 10-12 times a year. We have dedicated teams for areas such as: Program Development, Membership Services (Special Interest Groups, Workshops, Outings, Social Events, Refreshments) Communication (emails, website, Facebook, Historian), Competition Team and more.
When we do it:
Meetings are usually held on the first and third Thursday of each month from September – May at 7:30 p.m. sharp. Results nights start at 7:00 p.m. We hope to see you at our next meeting.
