Show Off

SHOW OFF’s, also known as digital slide shows, audio-visual shows or audio-visual presentations, are created by members of the Mississauga Camera Club and presented on most Thursday evening meetings after the Club announcements at the beginning of the evening. All members are welcome to create and submit a SHOW OFF to share their images with our Club. Submissions are to be given on a USB drive to SHOW OFF Leader, Jim Evans. Jim can be reached by email at showoff@mississaugacameraclub.ca if you have any questions, comments or suggestions.

Member Show Off’s

Those members submitting Show Off’s are invited to have their AV presentations accessible for viewing here on the club’s website. This would allow any club member who would like to see them again, an opportunity to do so. As well, this will provide members who were not present at the club meeting when they were shown a chance to see them for the first time.

Show Off creators will be asked if they wish to have their AV presentations accessible on the club website for on-line viewing by club members. For those who opt-in, the Show Off Leader will upload their videos to the UNLISTED category in a specially-created MCC YouTube account, and list the weblinks below. UNLISTED is a type of private category whereby only those people who know the link to the video can view it. An UNLISTED video will not appear in any of YouTube’s public spaces or in public search results.

Here then are the weblinks to those Show Off’s from the 2019-20 membership year for which their creators have approved this on-line viewing.

Quarantine Chronicles : Episode One by Jim Evans

These images were captured in and around Pt Credit during the early days of COVID 19 lockdown.   You will see people out enjoying the spring sunshine and walking-paths, while keeping their distance.  The sky is like we haven’t seen it in many years, with not a contrail in sight … and traffic noise is virtually non-existent.  Almost serene.  The lyrics of the song, by Icelandic group Sigur Rós, relate to a moment in time when finding shelter from the storm.
